Termite Control
Termite control is carried out in two stages that is prior to the construction of the house or building and post construction termite control. Termite proofing through injecting termiticide in structure and "spot treatment" of infested wood are the methods of termite control. The treatment is carried out against wood damaging insects such as wood borer and white ants.
1
Wood Borers
The amount of damage that wood-boring beetles cause depends on many factors. The type of wood (hardwood or softwood), the moisture content of the wood, and the environmental conditions at the infestation site all affect the severity of beetle damage. For active wood-boring beetle infestations, several spot treatments are possible. These include controlling wood moisture, using surface covers, mechanical removal, freezing, and insecticide treatments. In serious infestations where there is large number of beetles throughout the structure, fumigation may be the best control option.
2
White Ants
White-ants build a central colony nest from which they construct underground tunnels that radiate in a 100 metre radius in search of cellulose timber food sources. Even though white ants are minute, their appetites are immense and they can do immeasurable damage in a very short period of time. One of the very effective and common measures of termite control is the chemical barrier with imidacloprid which termites cannot detect. This barrier then applies poison to the termites who come into contact with it and then allow them to take it back to their colony where they spread the poison and subsequently the whole colony is eliminated.
Products
We use only water based chemicals which are odourless and very safe to humans. These are manufactured by large Indian as well as Multinational companies like Bayer, Rallis, FMC, etc. Some of the chemicals are as under:
Deltamethrin
Deltamethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid manufactured in various formulations (including emulsifiable concentrates, wettable powders, granules, and dusts for crack and crevice application) to control a wide variety of indoor and outdoor pests.
Fipronil
Fipronil is one of the newest names on the market for pest control, effective in the elimination of ants, roaches, termites, and other common pests.
Cypermethrin
Cypermethrin is commonly used as a crack and crevice or spot treatment for residual and contact control of spiders, ants, carpenter ants, scorpions, German cockroaches, ladybugs, carpenter bees, and yellow jackets.
Bifenthrin
Products with Bifenthrin can be applied in four basic areas. Indoors - including food-handling areas like restaurant kitchens. On and around building exteriors. Plants and shrubs Lawns.
Lambda Cyhalothrin
Lambda-cyhalothrin and other pyrethroids act as powerful poison to the central nervous system. Once poisoned, the insect's nerve cells become excited, causing paralysis and preventing normal feeding and grooming activities.
Glyphosate
Glyphosate is a broad-spectrum systemic herbicide that kills weeds and is especially effective against perennials. Glyphosate can be sprayed over plants or crops and absorbed through the leaves, injected into the trunks or stumps of trees, or broadcast.
